Mission Statement
At Novella Women’s Health, we believe every woman’s story deserves to be heard. Our mission is to listen first, believe women’s experiences, and provide clear, compassionate, and comprehensive care. We meet women where they are and care for the whole person, not just the symptoms. We are committed to restoring trust in healthcare by partnering with women to help them find answers, restore quality of life, and support long-term health at every stage.
Why “Novella”
The name Novella comes from the literary world. A novella is a story that’s longer than a short story, but more focused and intentional than a novel. Every word matters. Every chapter has a purpose.
That idea felt deeply aligned with how we view women’s health.
For too long, many women have been treated like footnotes in their own stories—rushed through appointments, unheard, or told their symptoms are “normal” when they know something isn’t right. At Novella Women’s Health, we believe your story deserves time, attention, and respect.
We chose the name Novella because:
- Your health is a story worth listening to
- Healing takes time. It’s written one chapter at a time.
- Care should be thoughtful, intentional, and centered on you
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all medicine or quick conclusions. We believe in understanding the full narrative—your symptoms, your experiences, your goals—so we can help you write the next chapter with clarity, dignity, and hope.
Novella represents a New Era in women’s healthcare:
One where your voice matters.
One where your pain is believed.
One where your story leads the care—not the other way around.
Our Story
Why We Built Novella
Novella Women’s Health was created from a shared belief that women deserve something better from their healthcare experience.
For years, both Dr. Jessica Hott and Ali Wisenall worked within large healthcare systems, caring deeply about the patients they served while also seeing firsthand the ways the system often fell short. Too often, women felt rushed through appointments, unheard in their concerns, or left navigating complex health issues without clear answers. Both believed that women’s healthcare could—and should—be more thoughtful, more personalized, and more responsive to the real needs of patients.
Dr. Hott, a board-certified gynecologic surgeon, spent years advocating for women navigating complex conditions such as endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Ali, a nurse practitioner and healthcare executive, spent her career working to improve patient access, operational systems, and care delivery across multiple surgical specialties. From different vantage points within healthcare, they both saw the same opportunity: to build something better.
Their partnership brought together two complementary perspectives—clinical expertise and healthcare leadership—united by a shared commitment to doing things differently. Together, they envisioned a practice where women would not have to navigate fragmented care, long delays for answers, or a system that feels impersonal. Novella was intentionally designed to bring thoughtful coordination, modern technology, and efficient access to care together in one place, allowing providers to focus on what matters most: listening to patients and delivering exceptional care.
The name Novella reflects that vision.
A novella is a story—one that is deeply human, personal, and meaningful. In many ways, women’s health journeys are stories as well. Every patient who walks through the doors of Novella brings her own experiences, questions, challenges, and hopes for the future.
At Novella Women’s Health, the goal is simple: to honor those stories and provide care that supports women through every chapter of their lives.
Building Novella has been both a professional mission and a personal one for its founders. It represents their belief that healthcare can be delivered with both excellence and empathy—and that when women are truly listened to, better care naturally follows.
This is the beginning of a new chapter in women’s healthcare, and Novella was created to help write that story.
